The Society welcomes new members! Membership is open to all.
The Society’s objectives are to promote interest in horticulture, including the culture of flowers, fruit and vegetables. Furthermore, we wish to encourage the younger generation to get involved.
We have over 500 members and our active Committee works hard to provide activities of interest to all types of gardeners – whether you exhibit in shows, are an allotment holder, plant enthusiast or just like to potter around.
The Spring, Summer and Autumn Show always provide a magnificent display of flowers and vegetables in all sections.
In the past Summer Show is the biggest event in Ingatestone with marquees holding horticultural and children’s competitions, a craft fair, displays and stalls by over 20 local organisations. The event attracts over 2,000 local people every year. This year the Summer Show has been taken over and has been re branded as Ingatestone Festival, a two day festival for the community to enjoy. It will be largely the same as the summer show however it will be spread across two days with live entertainment and much much more
As well as the shows, there is an annual plant sale and a garden competition, plus regular talks and organised coach outings to some of the best gardens in the South of England.
